![]() ![]() Season 3 certainly ended with a OMGWTFBBQ moment which was completely awesome, and they are definitely doing a good job at tying up loose ends so far in season 4. In related news - I've finished up the first half of the fourth season of Battlestar Galactica. Unless you must have everything Clannad I recommend giving this a pass and going with the much better TV series. (Admittedly, the movie apparently came out in 2004, but it still doesn't quite live up to high-budget standards back then too, in my opinion). The animation, while clean, has serious problems with cheap tricks to avoid animation where possible, and ends up looking worse then its TV counterpart. Several characters are cut from the story to facilitate a shorter run time, and yet the movie still tries to cover the same amount of ground that the two TV series did - recklessly hacking and slashing away at the story til it is hardly recognizable. ![]() In contrast is the movie, which was created by the same group that did the lackluster Air movie and canceled first Kanon adaptation (see a pattern?). In short - an excellent series in combination with its predecessor, and one that, for me, is contending with the #1 slot. And we finally know the story behind the scenes of the girl and the robot in the empty wasteland. The series also delivers in the storytelling department, serious when it needs to be, with a good sprinkling of humor to help prevent things from getting to morose at points. The animation is just as good as the first series, which is quite good, and the voice acting is also well done (at least as much as I can gauge Japanese voice acting). ![]() Which is a pretty impressive time span for an anime. (incl.Finished up another anime series this last week, Clannad: ~After Story~ as well as the Clannad movie, which is essentially just a retelling of the story in movie form.Īfter Story takes place directly after the first season on Clannad, following Tomoya and Nagisa as they finish high school, get married, and their first child.
